ENDS Raises Hundreds Of Pieces Of Clothes For Displaced Persons In Global Clothes Drive

The ENDS non governmental organization has so far raised hundreds of pieces of good clothing for displaced persons in its Global clothes drive. In a little over a month when the #IDPClothesDrive was announced, great Nigerians from across the nation and foreigners abroad have contributed all types of clothing items.

Items range from hundreds of shirts, trousers, male and female native wears, shoes, bed sheets, pillow cases, women and children clothes; also are suitcases, hand bags, baby diapers/pampers, curtains, night wears and all other miscellaneous items.

Donations of clothes have come from charitable Nigerians from across almost every state in the nation. Others came from the United States and the United Kingdom via container and air cargo.

The record holding state is Kano where an ENDS Queen, Mama Hauwa in collaboration with Freedom Fm radio station and ENDS patron, Ahmed Aliko Ahmed have been able to collect two truck loads of clothes, with more still being poured in everyday at the radio station. Special thanks to Freedom Fm for availing us their medium and property as collection center.

On behalf of the displaced persons and IDPs we must thank all individuals and agencies who have thus far participated in the ongoing clothes drive. JICD (Jasawa Initiative For Community Development) of Jos, Mohammed Sabo Keana of Abuja, Egwuonwu Chinenye F. in Nassarawa state/Keffi, PEDS (Partnership in Entrepreneurship Development Services) of Gombe with radio announcements, Danladi Hamisu and the Jos team, Adeniran in Abeokuta, Dami Olajide in Lagos, Atoyebi Afeez in Osun, Ademola Oyeledun, Team Aisha of Kaduna in Ibadan and so many other members and volunteers too many to mention, listed and unlisted on our Global clothes drive pagehttp://ends.ng/idpclothesdrive-global-collection-agents/

UPDATE: TOWARDS DISTRIBUTION

At this time logistics is proving a challenge, albeit surmountable, as storage for the tons of clothes and transport to camps involves ample finances. We welcome financial contributions to the Global clothes drive that can be given through methods on our drive page. We also continue to welcome all your used good clothes school bags and all other good condition items you do not need, prayers, volunteering and any other support you can and continue to give.

There are as many as 3 million displaced Nigerians and according to latest statistics, 60,000 babies will be born in IDP camps across Nigeria. The need can not be quantified or adequately met. These fellow citizens NEED you!

We try our best deliver help to the worst suffering camps.

Muslim: The only wealth you truly possess is the divine record of the things you gave away.

Thank you!
