The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign said yesterday that it has no time to respond to any offensive comment by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign spokesperson Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.
“The APC will stay on issues that will improve on the daily livelihood of Nigerians such as security, jobs creation and manpower development,” a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign, Malam Garba Shehu said.
“The era of attack dog is over. Nigerians are not going to vote for the party which has the most offensive tongue,” the campaign said.
“That Fani-Kayode started off the PDP presidential campaign resorting to abuse of the person of Buhari and demonization of the opposition party even after the charge to it by President Jonathan, shows how rudderless the PDP ship is, and it also shows that the PDP presidential campaign is not only short of ideas but has nothing worthwhile to communicate Nigerians,” the statement said.
“The main focus of the APC presidential campaign remains how APC government led by General Muhammadu Buhari will salvage the country from the doldrums that the incumbent administration has put it.
“These are the issues that APC presidential campaigns will stay on. This is what Nigerians expect of us as a campaign. We will not join issues with anybody who rants around the streets,” the statement said.
The APC campaign said it was not surprised that members of the Jonathan campaign have resorted to personal attacks on Buhari and focusing on trivial issues because the government has thoroughly run out of ideas to lead Nigeria to the promised destination.
