In this important interview of 2013, Nigeria’s former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode before being sucked into the PDP ruling party about the time his laundering case was dropped, strongly defended opposition candidate Muhammadu Buhari’s position that there must be consequences for election rigging if “any one intended to rig the elections.” Fani-Kayode said the Goodluck Jonathan government was the worst in Nigeria’s history and described carefully how things had gotten so horrible with looting, loss of revenue, expanding foreign debt, an 8 out of 10 graduate unemployment rate, inflation, security, etc under the PDP Goodluck Jonathan government.

When asked at about 20 minutes into the video, about General Buhari’s statement that if 2015 is rigged there will be consequences, Femi Fani-Kayode categorically defended and approved it as a “very good statement.” He explained that if any one was planning to rig, they better be ready for consequences. He gave the example of the Governors forum election where the Jonathan candidate, governor Jang of Plateau who got 15 votes claimed he was the winner over Governor Rotimi Amaechi. He said as a historian such violations had never occurred in Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode expressed frustration with the chairman of the PDP saying that Boko Haram was fighting for justice.
