An unknown number of people are feared dead after a twin suicide bombing at a motor park in the town of Madagali in Adamawa State on Monday morning.
The attack was allegedly carried out by two female suicide bombers. Speaking to Premium Times, a witness said the two female suicide bombers activated their bombs outside of the motor park at around 9 am on Monday.
“About 30 people were killed with 16 others injured,” the witness told Premium Times.
The Brigade Commander of 28th Task Force, Victor Ezugwu, confirmed the attack but was unable to provide an accurate casualty number. He informed Premium Times that the wounded were taken to a nearby hospital and that the military had cordoned off the area.
The suicide bombing comes on the heels of a series of bombings and gun attacks on Maiduguri by Boko Haram insurgents.
