After killing 11 persons and burning down two villages in Godogodo Chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government Area in the southern part of Kaduna State penultimate week, armed herdsmen, again, allegedly killed six farmers on Saturday in Godogodo village.
Meanwhile, Chairman, Kaduna State Chapter of Miyetti Ahallah, Dr. Haruna Usman, said: “Are Fulani crazy to just go and attack people? Did you ask the Godogodo people what they did to the Fulani? We already have 17 grazing reserves in Kaduna State since colonial times, and there is no dispute about that.
“What happened was that these people went and killed a Fulani Chief in one of the villages and burnt his house. The Fulani are just revenging.”
The villagers, who spoke to Vanguard, claimed that the armed herdsmen said their villages had become cattle grazing reserves and wanted them to vacate immediately.
Kaduna State Police Spokesman, ASP Aliyu Usman, confirmed to Vanguard the murder of the six farmers and said some arrest had been made, adding that though there was tension in the area, police were fully in control of the situation.
