While the southern nation’s borders have been shut, the porous northern borders have long been implicated as easy routes for smuggling cartel.
The video below from October 2018 purports to show motorcycle convoys smuggling hundreds of bags of rice through the northern border.
At least 70 motorbikes were seen during the duration of the recording, each carrying 4 bags of rice to a total of almost 300 bags this smuggling session.
Nigeria’s miles of northern borders are known to be totally porous and freely accessible with a permanent two way flow of Fulani cattle rearers, terrorists, smugglers and traders.
