Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, has promised to unleash Northern Nigeria’s economic potential through agriculture and quality education.

Obi made the promise on Monday while speaking to stakeholders, particularly women and youths, at a pre-campaign rally meeting in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

The Obi-Datti Media Office in Abuja issued the following statement.

According to the statement, Obi told the people that if elected, he and his Vice Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmad will develop Jigawa state by utilizing its various arable lands to produce goods for export.

He reiterated his position on securing the country, shifting its focus from consumption to production, and engaging youths in productive ages.

Obi assured the youths that they would receive a quality education and that they should be ready and willing to take back their country and control their own destiny.

Obi explained that he came with his Vice to the Palace of the Emir of Dutse, His Royal Highness, Dr Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, to honor him and seek his blessing in their quest to seek the people’s mandate to build a new Nigeria where justice and equity prevail.

He was quoted as telling the Emir that he and Datti are running because they believe they have what it takes to build a new Nigeria away from the deteriorating situation in which poverty is increasing by the day.
