The idea of politicians over 75 years old taking a competency test is “ridiculous,” according to First Lady Jill Biden, who added that she and President Joe Biden “would never even discuss something like that.”

Jill Biden rejected the test, proposed by Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, in an interview with CNN. Jill Biden is one of several Democrats who have spoken out against the proposal.

“We are battling racism. We’re up against sexism. We are combating homophobia. “I think we should fight ageism as well,” Senator Bernie Sanders said in response to the proposal, according to CNN.

“Bernie Sanders lost his mind because I asked for that [test],” Haley said in response to Sanders’ remarks at a recent rally. He is precisely the reason we require it.”

“Whoopi Goldberg went insane over it. And do you know what she was up to? Dianne Feinstein and Maxine Waters were her heroes. They are precisely why we require it,” Haley added.

Feinstein (89), Waters (84), Sanders (81), and President Biden (80) have all been mentioned as potential targets for such a policy. However, an astonishing number of federal representatives in the United States are over the age of 75.

According to Fiscal Note, 36 members of the House of Representatives are over 75 years old, with another eight being 74. In Congress, 16 members are over 75, with Feinstein at the top of the list. Senator Chuck Grassley, who is also 89, is only a few months her senior.

The first lady cited the president’s itinerary as proof of his youth, asking, “How many 30-year-olds could travel to Poland, get on the train? Go to Ukraine in nine hours to meet with President (Volodymyr) Zelenskyy?

“So, take a look at the man. Take a look at what he’s doing. “Look at what he does every day,” the president’s wife continued.

When asked if President Biden would run for re-election, Jill Biden said she couldn’t say for sure because Joe Biden is too preoccupied with the many “crises at home.”

“Nothing has been planned yet,” she added.

“He prioritizes America’s interests over his own.”
