Leading human rights activist, Comrade Shehu Sani has defeated the incumbent senator representing the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, General Mohammed Sani Saleh, in a tough All Progressive Congress primary.
A member of the electoral committee confirmed to SaharaReporters that Sani received about 921 votes while Senator Saleh got over 600.
The counting was still on at the time of this report, but Sani had a margin of over 300 votes over his nearest rival.
It would be recalled that another Kaduna Senator, former Minister Esther Nenadi Usman was two days ago also thrown out in the Peoples Democratic Party primary in Southern Kaduna.
