Boko Haram terrorists have raided a community in Borno on Monday night injuring several villagers and carting away foodstuffs and livestock.
The Islamic militants stormed the remote village of Toshia in Chibok Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno state on Monday night, injuring villagers and burning down huts before taking away foodstuffs and livestock.
A local vigilante, Aliyu Ba’na, disclosed that the villagers fled when they sighted the terrorists.
”We are are having telecommunications problems in Chibok and its environs, there was an attack on Monday night in Toshia village where the insurgents injured some villagers, but there was no loss of life.”
He added that ”the village was burned down, all livestock was carted away, and foodstuffs were looted though the military has taken a proactive step by protecting Chibok town. As a result, all routes linking to Chibok are barricaded, ” Ba’na said.
More than 200 schoolgirls were abducted by the terrorists in April 2014 at Government Girls Secondary school in Chibok and their whereabouts remain unknown, according to President Muhammadu Buhari, who addressed the issue of the missing schools in his maiden media chat last week.
