Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola has paid an unannounced visit to the Ebola patients at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba, in the early hours of today.
After arriving the hospital, Governor Fashola went round for an on the spot assessment and declined to comment on the outbreak during the time of his visit. The patients who have been isolated in two wards are under high surveillance and are attended to by four volunteer doctors and two officials from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Governor Fashola is the second governor of Lagos State to visit IDH after Brigadier-General Buba Marwa, since it was established some 70 years back to treat tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
