Images have captured police men in civilian clothing with clubs who were allegedly involved in the staged attacks on Shia Muslims in Nigeria’s north, especially Kaduna state.
The images capture the civilian-dressed men, some with rifles, others with staffs and clubs mounted on the back of police vans in the state.
There have been dozens of deaths and other casualties with Shia Muslim properties burned inflicted by police, the army and weapon-wielding civilians across northern Nigeria since Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai announced a clampdown on Shia Muslims.
The Shia Muslims were celebrating Ashura when they came under attack across the north.
