Girls Rescued From Sambisa Not Chibok Girls – Military Source

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday announced the rescue of 200 girls and 93 women from the dreaded Sambisa forest known to be the hideout of the Boko Haram insurgents group.

However, military sources have said that the girls are not any of the over 200 girls abducted by the violent sect over one year ago.

According to @sampiranty , a Military colonel confirmed that the girls are not Chibok girls, but girls kidnapped from ‘Damboa, Madagali & Gumsiri towns in Borno State.

The Colonel however added that the battle at the forest is still ongoing as they have only been able to advance 25km into the forest with another 50sq km to go in the forest.

“We still have another 50sq km to go in Sambisa so having already found these girls is a great sign”

“Boko Haram continuing to flee from Sambisa forest each day, we are making many inroads,” the Colonel said.
