HISTORY: Nigeria Reopens Maiduguri-Mafa-Dikwa-Gomboru Ngala-Cameroon Highway

This Wednesday 6th July 2016 history was made as the Nigerian government reopened the Maiduguri-Dikwa-Gamboru highway. With the reopening access is restored for goods and persons traveling to Chad and Cameroon.

“For the first time in six years the good people of Borno and Yobe States had Eid el fitr celebrations without restriction of vehicular movement and lock down of the States as well as the formal reopening of the most important road from Maiduguri-Mafa-Dikwa-Gomboru Ngala-Cameroon and beyond.

“To the credit of the Nigerian military, other Security Agencies, Civilian JTF and the well meaning and peace loving people of our country, peace and security is gradually coming back into our societies.” A statement by the DHQ said.

Nigeria especially traders and farmers in the northeast lost billions due to hardships imposed by Boko Haram’s shutting down of the major travel routes with neighboring states.
