One of the fraudulent campaign of the Nigerian Army to justify its recent brutal Zaria massacre is that the IMN have a military wing that threatened the peace & security of the Nigerian nation. The Nigerian Army is a present desperately sponsoring paid Advertorial in major Nigerian TV Channels to promote this baseless & fraudulent accusations. We will discuss this issue with practical examples especially for the benefit of our Nigerian Christian brothers and sisters.
In true Islam it is impossible for characters such as Osama Bin Laden, al-Baghdadi of ISIS and Abubakar Shekau to declare armed struggle. Armed struggle involves life and death so it is only the competent Grand religious references who can declare it by a Fatwa.
A good example is when the #Israeli regime invaded Lebanon in 1982. There was no such religious reference in Lebanon then to give such Fatwa. Some Lebanese scholars went to Tehran, Iran, and met Imam Khomeini (r). They laid their complains before him. After much deliberation, he decided. Imam Khomeini decided that an armed resistance group should be formed in Lebanon that will protect not only Shia Muslims but all Lebanese. That was how #Hezbollah was born in 1982. Hezbollah finally drove the occupying Israeli Army out of Lebanon in 2000 after 18 years of armed resistance.
There are conditions that warrant armed struggle in a country or society. I will outline those conditions and give practical examples. The first condition is when there is foreign invasion & occupation of an entire country like #Palestine today. Armed resistance in such condition is a duty. In such a condition it becomes an obligation for all the people in that country to form armed resistance groups to chase out the occupiers. The second condition is when the National Army whose responsibility is to protect the nation failed to do so & people are threatened. Practical example here is when the Iraqi Army collapsed in Mosul & ISIS terrorists took over the city & threatened the southern cities of Iraq. Another example is the case of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 that was stated above. The Lebanese Army was nonexistence.
The third condition is the most important & override all the two conditions stated above. The approval of a Grand religious reference is needed to start an armed resistance. Issues that affects life & death should not be left in the hands of incompetent pretenders like Osama Bin Laden & Abubakar Al-Baghdadi. This is the tragedy that the world of #Islam is facing today of terrorism. An ignorant shoe shiner can declare “Jihad” & people will follow him.
In Shia Islam the institution of Islam scholarship is institutionalized. It is impossible for incompetent pretenders to declare “Jihad”. And that is why there are no murderous terrorist groups such as ISIS and Boko Haram in Shia Islam. In Sunni Islam that is not contaminated with Wahhabism, this institutionalization of Islamic scholarship is in place & there is control. But Wahhabism destroyed this institutionalization of scholarship & every pretender can wear the garb of an “Islamic scholar” & be accepted. This is the main reason why all murderous terrorist groups today that are killing the innocent in the name of Islam are inspired by Wahhabism. A situation where every garbage & sewage can declare “Jihad” is a tragedy. Imagine the deaths & destructions that will result when such things happened!
This discuss on armed struggle is meant to debunk the false claims & Intels that Islamic Movement of Nigeria under Sheikh #Zakzaky have a military wing. The Conditions that warrant armed struggle does not exist in Nigeria. Nigeria today have a functional govt though the government is oppressive & tyrannical but it is still functional.
The IMN under the leadership of Sheikh #Zakzaky is a mass Movement of millions that transcend the Nigerian borders. It is not armed & does not require weapons to propagate Islam. For more than 38 years of its existence, the IMN is peaceful in all its programs and activities. In all its programs women and children attends, how can such a group be “violent”?
A neutral observer will ask what is Our relationship with #Hezbollah that is an armed resistance group in Lebanon, Ansarullah of Yemen etc? Our relationship is based on the premise that we share the same Idealism. Those groups needed to be armed as if they are not armed their communities will be exterminated. Today the almost two million Lebanese Christians are protected & safe from ISIS & AlQaeda thanks to Hezbollah. Hezbollah had killed thousands of ISIS and AlQaeda terrorists in neighboring Syria to keep Lebanon safe. Lebanese Christian poets had composed worthy verses to celebrate the brave Hezbollah fighters of why Julia Bitrous is the most famous.
In Nigeria we do not have this existential threat. Our problem is that we have an imperialist-infiltrated Army that kill us yearly. In Nigeria we have an Army that killed 34 of us in 2014. And again the same Nigerian Army killed 1000+ of us in December 2015. Despite all these killings by the Nigerian Army no single person was arrested or punished by the Nigerian government. In the recent massacre women were raped & then killed & the dead bodies were burnt.
We call on all well meaning Nigerians to condemn the brutal & inhuman Zaria massacre & to put pressure on the Nigerian govt to serve justice to all Nigerians. We demand Justice & fairness in all affairs.
