Kwara PDP Leaders In Wild Brawl On Abuja-Bound Aircraft

The crises rocking the Kwara State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a dangerous dimension on Monday when PDP leaders turned an Abuja-bound aircraft to a battle field.

The atmosphere in the aircraft turned violent following threats by the Senator representing Kwara South senatorial district, Senator Simeon Ajibola and Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly, Senator Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi to beat up the Chairman, Federal Character Commission, Prof. Oba Abdulraheem.

Senator Simeon Ajibola had gone to meet Prof. Oba Abdulraheem where he was seated and pointedly accused him in a shouting march of his overbearing attitude in the Kwara State chapter of the PDP. Senator Ajibola reminded Prof. Oba that he remains a founding father of PDP in Kwara State. He warned Prof. Oba not to destroy the PDP with his selfish nature. The encounter led to raining of abuses on themselves and it caught the attention of all passengers on board.

Senator Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi later joined the duo in what passengers thought was an act to intervene and settle the quarrel but to everyone dismay, Senator Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi also threatened to slap Prof Oba Abdulraheem.

The Minister of National Planning, Dr. Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman was seen quietly seated on his seat. He refused to intervene.

The domestic aircraft was enroute Abuja from Ilorin, on Monday.

But for the intervention of the first officer and crew members who were onboard the aircraft, the duo of Senator Ajibola and Senator Ajadi almost made real the threat to beat up Prof. Abdulraheem.
