According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the Russian city will build Europe’s longest urban park.

The city’s authorities have been working on the park since 2016, with the goal of combining the green areas along the banks of the Yauza River, a significant tributary of the Moskva River, into a single mega-park.

Sobyanin said in a Telegram post on Wednesday that the city plans to renovate three other park zones along the river this year.

“We plan to complete all work on the creation of the Yauza park by 2026,” the mayor stated, adding that the park will be the largest – or at least the longest in Europe.
