While I witness the burial of our fallen heroes yesterday, I was saddned the more to notice the absence of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country.

May I be right if I say Mr. President lacks advisers? If the reason why he was absent was as improtant as paying last homage to these gallant soldiers, I wouldn’t have been hurt. But for commissioning ‘mere’ School buildings which is not first of its kind in the country nor in Edo State and which can easily be rescheduled if he must attend, I call this negligence and misplacement of priority. All be it, if you declined to be there in person as a President, what reason do you have not been there as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces? If you can send representative there, why didn’t you swap the representation to Edo and be in Abuja yourself?

Again, absence of Defence Minister is another shocker. I couldn’t believe such will happen in our dear country at this trying time when these soldiers put their everything to protect sovereignty of our dear country.

Believe me or not, this is demotivating to our gallant soldiers in the battlefield! A big shame!!

The families of these soldiers and majority of Nigerians will be left in doubt whether the country appreciate their efforts or not.

May their souls rest in peace!!!
