According to a new Stears Nigeria poll, Labour Party candidate Peter Obi has a 41% lead ahead of the February 25 election.

At 31% and 20%, respectively, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party are close behind.

When asked who they would most likely vote for, 36% of respondents remained silent.

According to Stears, the poll “covers 6,220 respondents across Nigeria’s 36 States, making it the largest telephone-based electoral poll in Nigeria.”

However, Stears’ model predicts that Tinubu will win the election even if voters do not turn out in large numbers.

The former Lagos State governor will receive 39% of the vote, while Obi and Atiku will receive 32% and 22%, respectively.

“Stears prediction model believes that Tinubu has the most silent voters, i.e. people who intend to vote for Tinubu but choose not to disclose this during an interview,” the pollsters said.
