At the wedding of Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan’s foster daughter, Inebharapu who is the daughter of his cousin; women chartered to attend in mass-transit buses suffered a variety of insults from poor coordination at the gates.
A stampede resulted and the security men resorted to tear-gassing the attendees leading to worsening of the stampede and many injuries with a pregnant women being sent into a coma and rushed to a hospital.
The Nigerian president has been strongly criticized for insensitivity going along with this wedding seven days after and as Nigerians mourn the Baga massacre by Boko Haram terrorists that has left no fewer than 2000 dead. This being the worst singular terror event of the decade.
Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has commented that the president based on the outcomes of his actions does not have good luck but rather ‘bad luck.’
