President of the United States Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19.
On Thursday, July 21, his administration announced that the 79-year-old was suffering from “mild symptoms” and would continue to perform his full duties while confined at the White House.
“He has been fully vaccinated and twice boosted and is experiencing very mild symptoms,” the White House said in a statement, adding that Biden had started taking Pfizer’s anti-Covid pill Paxlovid.
“Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” the statement continues.
