As part of effort in strengthening peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria,Pastor Yohanna Buru , the General overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry of Nigeria has distributed over 700 “Take away Food and drink packages with cloths to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, Less privileges, widows and prison Inmates .
According to pastor yohanna the aimed is enable to them mark the sallah celebration with joy and happiness like any other muslims across the world
Pastor Buru, who led a team of some Christian and Muslim youth to distribute the Food and drinks items said ,”We have come to support our brother with food to eat,because today is Sallah,and we want them to join all Muslims in celebration , and it ‘s a our joy to assist the needy at any time most especially our Muslims brothers during a period like this”
The cleric pointed out clearly that ” The Bible teaches us to love our neighbours as we love ourselves , and what ever we do as Christian clerics , the teachings of the holy bible is our guide . Adding “This is our 6th year of embarking this journey of Food and drink distribution during sallah period to the less privilege ,widows and inmates and donating new cloths to the orphans “.
Pastor jowel zigo , who accompanied the team of the Christian clerics said,”During the Christmas festivity ,and new year celebration,our Muslims brothers joined us in celebrating throughout the seasons,today we are here to assist those needy with food , drinks and some other humanitarian assistance to make them feal happy”.
The Food and drinks were also distributed to some street beggers,orphanage home,and some poor women,in other to enable them celebrate sallah with joy
Some of the physically challenged person that the church member visited to donate food items said, “No one brought any food to us today only the Christians remember us,and we are really grateful to them.
“We are still calling on all the Good Samaritan in the state to remembers us today when eating their delicious food”.
All the leaders of the physically challenges persons at kano road expressed satisfaction and call on wealthy individuals to always remember them
The team of the Christian also shared food to some groups of women
Malama Maryan sani who live at bakin ruwa kaduna said,I am really happy with the support I got from our neighbours the Christian,adding that only God can bless the one that remember someone on a special day like this
Maryam calls on wealthy individuals to always remember the poor during festivity like,so as to make them smile like every other citizens
