A group known as the South East Movement for Progressive Change, has tagged Senator Ike Ekweremadu as a “gay prostitute” for conniving with Senator Bukola Saraki to become the Deputy Senate President.
According to the group’s Executive Director Chief Uche Kamalu, Ekweremadu’s decision to hang on to the position of the Deputy Senate President is tantamount to hopping in bed with another woman’s husband.
In an advertorial titled “IKE EKWEREMADU SHOULD RESIGN NOW” published in THISDAY newspaper, the group described Ekweremadu’s hunger for political position as a show of his fraudulent, uncharitable and insincere attributes and demanded for his quick resignation as the Deputy Senate President.
“In light of all the evil that is happening around the world, hanging onto the position of DSP with alleged APC Senator Saraki to you should be tantamount to hopping in bed with another woman’s husband as a gay prostitute.
“Dear senator Ike Ekweremadu, please save yourself this shame and resign as we will not relent until your act is thoroughly rubbished and caused to backfire on you rather than the Igbo race you claim to fraudulently represent.
“Igbo nwere ugwu and we will not allow power hungry politicians to continually denigrate us.”
Ekweremadu who had referred to those calling for his resignation as simply expressing primordial sentiments against him and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, urged those proponents of resignation to see beyond parties differences, noting that the period of politics had passed.
The group who expressed great disdain and discontent about Ekweremadu’s continued stay in office as the Deputy Senate President, blasted him and the PDP for the poor performance in the last eight years especially in the area of delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the South East.
It said it regretted the deplorable state of infrastructure such as the Enugu to Aba and Portharcourt freeway, the Enugu to Onitsha freeway and the Second Niger Bridge which was a tool used to cone the igbos to vote in their favor.
“It is of note sir, that somehow you have been making strenuous efforts to wriggle out the mess flying around the National Assembly since you usurped the office of the DSP.
“Sir, we urge you to read between the lines and note that your continued presence in the office of the Deputy Senate president arouses great disdain, discontent and tension amongst your peers in the National Assembly and is therefore a threat to our peace and national security”
“Quite frankly sir, if Nigeria and the APC needed a South easterner to be the DSP, it must not be you considering you as a senator from Enugu have been Deputy Senate President for Eight years and could not deliver the death traps called Enugu to Aba and PH freeway nor the second Niger bridge which you and the outgone party used to cone the Igbos for their support”
