We Did Not Endorse el-Rufai’s Controversial Bill – JIBWIS, Kaduna

Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai in attendance

PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE JAMA’ATU IZALATUL BID’AH WA IQAMATUS SUNNAH KADUNA STATE CHAPTER ON 08/04/2016

Gentle men of the press,

Assalamu Alaikum,

In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful, Peace and Blessing be to His Messenger the Leader of creations Prophet Muhammad(SAW).

The purpose of this broadcast is to draw the attention of Kaduna State Government and Jama’atu Nasrul Islam injustice done to our corporate name. The statement of JNI delegation that met With His Excellency Mallam Nasiru Elrufai the Executive Governor of Kaduna state, the statement mentioned Jama’au Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’ikamatus sunnah, in the list of the faith based organization that have endorsed the controversial bill, which is proposing to substitute the Religious Preaching Law of 1984.

Both Kaduna state government and JNI know very well that JIBWIS Kaduna state chapter has not been officially contacted to that end.

It was through the media that, we noticed the presence of Sheikh Rabiu Daura ,Sheikh Umar Hasan,Sheikh Usman Saleh in the JNI delegation.

All of whom, were invited in their individual capacities. And the irony of it ,they all attested to our office that, what the statement claimed was not the actual resolution of the meeting.
We hope any person or authority exercising legislative, Executive or Judicial powers, will from now onward approach us through the appropriate quarters.

We as corporate body do not support the preaching bill, and we consider it as an unwarranted attempt to create a bottle neck, through undemocratic means. As such, are calling upon the Governor and the Honourable House of assembly to discard it.

Long live Kaduna state

Long live Jama’atu Nasrul Islam
Yours in Islam,

Muhammad Tukur Isa
State Executive Chairman.
