On February 4th according to the PremiumTimes, the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, on behalf of one Omano Edigheji filed a Freedom of Information request to the University of Port Harcourt for the release of president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s alleged doctoral thesis.
The Institute requested:
1. The title of the president’s doctorate dissertation
2. Year of registration as a doctorate candidate
3. Name of his doctorate supervisor(s)
4. Name of his external examiner(s)
5. Comments/ reports of the external examiners on the dissertation/thesis
6. Photocopy of the dissertation/thesis
7. Date of graduation from the university
The organisation said was willing to bear any cost the university might incur in making photocopies of the requested documents and for posting them.
The organisation gave the university seven days to provide the documents.
This request followed reports including ours strongly questioning the president’s acclaimed academic records and accusing him of perjury. See our report on his ‘absent’ thesis here.
The University of Port Harcourt had claimed that the president did graduate and the information of his record will be furnished on request. Now Nigerians have requested; where are the documents and records?
A fellow professor who knows the president well form his village, Professor Tam David West further disputed the president’s claims of having graduated. He challenged president Jonathan to backup his claim of being a ‘doctor.’
NewsRescue at this time concludes that president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a fraud. He never completed his PhD and has no thesis and academic record to show.
His only collegiate publication was obtained as a student in the teachers college and not enrolled in the University of Port Harcourt.
We advise all interested in sanitizing the Nigerian system to proceed with filing cases of perjury in the courts.
