It is widely known in Borno that Boko Haram is gathering massive forces at Maha, northeast of Maiduguri, capital of the state.
The terrorists are bent on capturing Maiduguri and perhaps they have the capacity to do so if history is anything to refer to.
People are wondering why when there is clear and actionable intelligence on the terrorists’ formations, planned and routes of attack, the Nigerian army does not bomb the ish out of them early but always waits for them to attack, struggling and typically losing from a defensive position.
The advantage always given to the terrorists and the failure of the air force to properly bomb them leads to military commanders deserting position and subsequent court martialing.
Now we announce based on accurate reports that Boko Haram is preparing for attack. We know their positions. Will the army act?
Most access routes to MAiduguri have been closed with bridges bombed etc by the terrorists. Maiduguri is in a dire situation right now with the terrorists surrounding the capital strategically, preparing for a hefty assault.
The fate of the town is largely in the hands of poorly armed Civilian joint task force members who were the primary force who repelled their last attack on the capital and Monguno, killing hundreds and recapturing several APC’s and artillery guns while the Nigerian army fled.
