After a laborious four day process, the Nigerian Independent Electoral Commission chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega announced the results of the 2015 presidential elections.
According to the results announced by the commission, the next president of Nigeria to be sworn in on May 29th 2015 is General Muhammadu Buhari.
Goodluck Jonathan scored 12,122,047 of total votes across the states
Muhammadu Buhari scored 15,013,268 of total votes across the states.
The election process war marred with rigging and vote irregularities however the presidency winner it determined appears accurate in spite of these.
The outgoing president, Goodlcuk Ebele Jonathan has called to congratulate President-elect, General Muahmmadu Buhari on his victory. During the call made to Buhari in Abuja at 5:15pm, Jonathan assured him of maximum cooperation and smooth transition.
