The sound of heavy gunfire has been reported at Tudun Wada in Kaduna state.
Reports coming in have it that the shooting is related to the ongoing siege on the Islamic Movement in the state and military action against the faithfuls including the injury and arrest of Muslim leader, Sheikh Zakzaky.
The leader was recently detained by the military after an event that left as many as 100 faithfuls dead.
Police are said to have sprayed tear gas.
