The Council Of Islamic Sheikhs For Good Governance (CISGG) and other Muslim leaders of affiliate groups have backed Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Sheikh Rufae Al-Siddiq, Global President and Unification Superintendent of the Clerics, stated that the decision was made out of faith and conviction.
“Assalamu alaikum, my dear brothers and sisters in faith,” he says. We stand before you today with great honor and humility to support the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi.
“We have carefully evaluated the stances and policies of all the candidates, and have come to the conclusion that His Excellency Peter Obi is the best choice for our nation. He has a track record of advocating for the rights of the marginalized and tirelessly working to improve the lives of all Nigerians.
“His commitment to combating corruption and promoting good governance is unparalleled. He has demonstrated this.
“Obi is committed to transparency and accountability in government, and will work tirelessly to ensure that our nation’s resources are used for the benefit of all its citizens,” he continued.
“His plans for economic growth and development align with our values of fairness and justice, and will help lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty. He has a clear vision for how to address our country’s challenges and the experience and leadership skills to put it into action.
“As leaders of the Council of Islamic Sheikhs for Good Governance, we believe that His Excellency Peter Obi is the candidate who will lead our nation to a brighter future.
