Below is the Picture of Nnamdi Azikiwe express Bye-Pass (western bye-pass) located in kaduna south local government of kaduna state, the only link between Kano to Abuja express way. The strategic and economic importance of this road cannot be over emphasised. An estimated over 100, 000 vehicles of different types and categories ply the road which is a major connecting point to the Federal capital and the south, west and central regions of Nigeria.
There is no Governor, Senator, Rep Member, Minister, top government official, or Business Mongul who travels by road to or from North west or North East of Abuja who does follow this very road. This is not to talk of Kaduna State Government which uses the road on daily basis.
This road has been so dilapidated and in a terrible condition all its length for over year now. The road has been too bad to and is a death accident trap to motorist who use it day and night. That is besides been an eyesore and frequent damages to vehicles.
Last week yours truly was also was involved in an accident on same road but was lucky to have escaped with minor injuries.
Previous governments taken actions to manage the road using thevFederal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) which has carried out patch works to make it motorable safer for it users.
The road has not experienced any maintenance for the past 5years or so which resulted in the precarious state it is today. I am not certain if the road is included in the 2016 budget passed by the National Assembly though.
On behalf of the good people of kaduna state I am calling on the Federal Government through our distinguished Comrade Senator, Sen. Shehu Sani, Hon. Rufai Ahmad Chanchangi, Member Representing Kaduna South Federal Constituency; Hon. Mal Samaila Suleiman, Member Kaduna North Federal Constituency to please come to the aid of motorist and carry out maintenance on the road or facilitate the immediate repair work on the road before gory stories ensue.
