Former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasir El Rufai has won the gubernatorial election held on Saturday in Kaduna state by a landslide based on 80% results from polling units across the state. The diminutive former minister defeated the incumbent governor of Kaduna state, Ramalan Yero, by a wide margin in most of the 23 local government areas of the state. El Rufai is leading Mr. Yero by at least 500,000 votes.
Election results obtained by SaharaReporters shows that El Rufai has obtained 725,293 as opposed to Yero’s 242,392.
