Nigeria Bans Twitter After Media Suspends President For ‘Genocidal Tweet’


Nigeria’s government has banned Twitter social network after the media agency deleted the presidents tweet for violence and suspended his account.

The official handle of the Federal ministry of culture, Fed Min of Info & Cu@FMICNigeria·1h tweeted: “Federal Government has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria.’

Nigeria’s president had threatened those provoking destruction of infrastructure by invoking the 1966 civil war that resulted in millions of deaths.
