An Open Letter To The Rt. Hon Speaker, Federal House Of Representatives

Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara,
Honourable Speaker,
House of Representatives,
National Assembly Complex,
Three Arms Zone, Abuja

The Hon. Speaker Sir,

LETTER OF CLARIFICATION

The attention of the National Union of Bauchi State (NUBASS) has been drawn by a report roaming the media that our Union has been denied the right to conduct an event by the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi state command.

For the record, this is far from the truth. The event in question which was tagged ‘Aminu Saleh Memorial Lecture’ was not organized by NUBASS but by some imposters who claim to be the leaders of the Union. Hitherto, the event was stopped by the legitimate and substantive leadership of the Union, recognized by all.

Prior to the scheduled date of the program, we filed in a complaint with all the necessary back up documents that included the Court order that restricted the imposter from parading himself as the NUBASS president and his CGPA, which due to it’s shortcomings, has pathetically flew away his chance to even contest as a National President of our Union.

In view of the above, we as the leaders of this great Union feel it is imperative to notify you that contrary to the imposter’s claim, the event was not stopped by the Commissioner of Police out of political calculation or by the intention of denying him his rights. Thus, the authorities only acted in accordance to the rule of law, in stopping impersonation, break of law and order and invitation of chaos in our dear Union.

With regards to the petition against the Bauchi state Commissioner of Police submitted to your office by this imposter, I think he has shot himself on the foot! This has provided you the golden opportunity to set up an investigative panel that will dig into sands and unfold how much of a fraud he is! You would be amused by how someone without the 2.0 CGPA as required by the constitution of our Union is embarrassingly parading himself as the leader of the world-wide-proclaimed brilliant and talented Bauchi state students.

As fortunate as we are sir, you the Speaker and Haliru Jika, The Chairman, House Committee on Police Affairs are proud sons of the soil. So this is an avenue for the two of you to fight for the over 1.5million students in your state. You are conventionally regarded in the NUBASS circle as a students-lover, pace-setter, revolutionist, and freedom fighter. As thus, we are adamant you will disregard the imposters claim to preserve your dignity in the eyes of the student.

Finally, let me extend the approbation of the students in your constituency and the state at large for your efforts towards the development of education in the state.

Signed:

Comrade Musa Muhammad Jibrin     – Executive National PresidenT

Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Auwal –                                                                   National Secretary General
