Angry youth factions protested violently at the Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna this Friday over the selection of anew Imam.
The secretary-General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, was appointed earlier in October as the Imam of the Mosque.
There were anti Dr. Khalid factional youth and those for him. The youth disrupted the prayer services not wanting the Imam to come to the Mosque till police came to fire tear gas to abate the angry crowds.
The prayers were finally conducted with Imam Ibrahim presiding.
