During Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee hearing, Rep. Nancy Mace, R-SC, questioned ex-Twitter official Vijaya Gadde, demanding to know what medical expertise she had before censoring COVID-19 vaccine information from Harvard and Stanford educated doctors as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“The Twitter Files were about more than Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Mace explained on Wednesday. “The Twitter Files show that Twitter worked tirelessly to suppress accurate COVID information.”

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine at Stanford University, tweeted an article he wrote on natural immunity, but that tweet was marked as a “trends blacklist,” according to the congresswoman.

“Apparently, you people are misled by the views of a Stanford doctor,” Mace said.

Mace also mentioned how the Twitter Files, which were made public by the platform’s new owner, Elon Musk, revealed how Dr. Martin Kulldorff, a Harvard-educated epidemiologist, once tweeted, “COVID vaccines are critical for high-risk individuals and their caregivers. Those who have had a previous natural infection, as well as children, do not require it.”

According to the Twitter Files, his tweet was deemed false information because it contradicted the CDC.

“What medical school did you attend?” Mace enquired of Gadde, Twitter’s former chief legal officer.

Gadde and three other former Twitter executives testified before the hearing about Twitter’s censorship of the New York Post’s reporting on President Joe Biden’s family’s business dealings ahead of the 2020 election, which was based on information obtained from Biden’s son, Hunter Biden’s, abandoned laptop.

“I did not attend medical school,” Gadde explained.

“May I apologize?” Mace inquired. “I did not go to medical school,” Gadde stated again.

“That’s what I assumed. Why did you or anyone else at Twitter believe you were qualified to censor a doctor’s expert opinion?” Mace inquired.

Gadde began, “Our COVID policies were designed to protest individuals…”

“You guys censored Harvard-educated doctors, Stanford-educated doctors, doctors educated in the best universities in the world, and you silenced their voices,” Mace interjected.

“COVID has long-term effects on me and many other Americans. Not only was I a long-hauler, but I was also affected by the vaccine. It wasn’t the first attempt. But it wasn’t until the second shot that I developed asthma, which hasn’t gone away since. My left hand is trembling “Before she began her line of questioning, Mace explained earlier. “And I have occasional heart pain that no doctor can explain, despite having undergone a battery of tests. I find it extremely concerning that Twitter’s unrestricted censorship has spread into medical fields and affected millions of Americans by suppressing expert medical opinions and censoring those who disagree with the CDC. I have a lot of [regrets] about getting the shot because of the health problems I now have that I don’t think will ever go away. And I know I am not the only American who is concerned about these issues.”

Mace displayed yet another tweet from a user with 18,000 followers. According to Twitter’s standards, that person shared a screenshot of a chart with CDC data, which means “it should be accurate,” according to the congresswoman. Nonetheless, Twitter flagged the tweet as misleading.

“Ms. Gadde, you’re not a doctor, are you? What makes you, or anyone else on Twitter, believe you have the medical knowledge to censor actual, accurate CDC data?” Mace inquired once more.

“It is government information. It’s absurd that we even need to practice conservation today. It isn’t just the laptop. This is about expert doctors attempting to provide medical advice to Americans while social media platforms such as Twitter silenced their voices “She stated.

According to Gadde, Twitter has received legal requests to remove content from the platform from the United States government and governments around the world, which have been published on a third-party website.

“God bless [journalist] Matt Taibbi. Thank you, Elon Musk, for allowing us and the rest of the world to see that Twitter was essentially a branch of the FBI, censoring real medical voices with real expertise and putting real Americans’ lives in danger because they didn’t have that information “Mace elaborated.
