Borno state governor Kashim Shettima who has been accused of being unable to protect the citizenry of the state through the grueling years of Boko Haram terror, is again at it, overseeing the starving of the citizens and victims of Boko Haram to death.
A recent video of alleged State emergency, SEMA officials, offloading and repackaging dire needed food for displaced persons is so painful to watch and is the last straw if any is needed in the need for the declaration of a long overdue full state of emergency in Borno with the retirement of Governor Shettima.

This latest video evidence adds on the ongoing case of seven IDP material loaded trucks that were similarly diverted.
There is no question that Governor Shettima cannot govern Borno state. The governor himself admitted that the actions of himself and his fore-father, former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff with their abandonment and deprivement of communities led to Boko Haram.
“…we all contributed in the making whether by indifference; by directly fuelling it; by failing to address it or by standing in the ways of those who make efforts to address the problems. No active group is free from blame, from those of us who are political actors to even journalists.” – Kashim Shettima, July 2015.
The same governor failed to raise proper local and global alarm and act pre-emptively to address the Boko Haram insurgency when it arose and blocked the actions of Civilian defense groups and hunters who assembled severally as a last resort to attack Boko Haram and protect their communities. This while he happily bought up the classy properties and lands of citizens fleeing devastated Borno.
Today as we aggressively struggle in our latest #
The government-aided genocide of the Kanuri farmers has gone on too long.
We call on president Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful and save the people of Borno who survived Boko Haram from Kashim Shettima.
