Following two explosives that rocked Biu town Saturday, angry mob have unleashed their anger in an internally displaced person’s camp believed to be housing Damboa community, Yerwa Express News can authoritatively report.
A stakeholder from Damboa who does not want his name mentioned told YENews that the aftermath of the two explosion was a fresh attack on a camp where idps are taking refuge.
For over three years, Biu has been playing host to some idps from Damboa, due to Boko Haram attacks.
With the return of normalcy and subsequent reopening of Damboa local government as well as Maiduguri- Biu road, Damboa local government council made concerted efforts to relocate the displaced persons back to Damboa but the idps declined, insisting on staying in Biu.
Before the occurrence of today’s unfortunate bomb blast, emerging reports from Biu says the people have turned hostile to the IDPs due to allegations that the insecurity being experienced in the area recently is mainly caused by them.
Today’s mob attack on Damboa community in Biu attests to one thing: there is aheightened suspicion.
There is no information on the scores yet.
