On Wednesday afternoon, a US military helicopter identified as a UH-60 Black Hawk crashed near Huntsville in northern Alabama, killing at least two people on board.

Around 3 p.m. local time, the crash was captured on camera. The video shows the helicopter rapidly descending and then collapsing, followed by an explosion and a plume of black smoke.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the plane crashed near Highway 53 and Burwell Road, just northwest of Huntsville, and caught fire upon impact. The sheriff stated that he had no idea how many people were on board, but that there were no survivors. At least two deaths were later confirmed by local officials.

The Pentagon has yet to provide any information about the helicopter. Local TV station WAFF reported, citing “credible sources,” that it belonged to the National Guard in nearby Tennessee.
