The leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau appeared in a new video where he debunked the claim by the Nigeria military that he has been killed.
The military had few weeks ago said that Shekau was killed in the battle between Nigerian troops and the sect fighters in Konduga, adding he was not the real Shekau, but just an imposter acting as Shekau.
According to the military, Shekau was killed since 2013 by members of the defunct Joint Task Force (JTF), but that an impostor known with different names took the Shekau brand and acted as if he was the one.
But Shekau dismissed the claim in the new video saying he is alive and cannot only die when God wants him to.
