As part of the ongoing consultations ahead of the 2015 general elections, President Goodluck Jonathan has met with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South-West.
The Punch Newspaper reported that meeting which was held inside the First Lady’s Conference Hall in the Presidential Villa in Abuja had almost all the leaders in the region except former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
President Goodluck Jonathan and other leaders of the party used the medium to strategise ahead of 2015 polls and the issue of the removal of the party’s National Deputy Chairman, Sout-West, Ishola Filani was discussed.
Though some some stakeholders from Ekiti State opposed Filani’s removal from office but the issue was resolved at the meeting.
According to a source at the meeting, “Some stakeholders from Ekiti State protested his removal from office. Some however argued that they should not complain since since Filani’s Filani’s replacement is also from their state.
“It was resolved that since election was held and a winner had emerged, the issue should remain like that.”
