#Election2015Pogrom: Boko Haram Captures Another Village in Borno, Town in Adamawa Hoists Flags

where is the armyDay in, day out, the Boko Haram insurgents group are gaining foothold on the Nigerian territory. First, they seized Damboa town after killing scores of people and hoisted their flags. The Nigeria military, after 3 failed attempts succeeded in retaking the town, but the insurgents advanced to Gwoza, took over the town and even appointed a new emir for Gwoza.

Few days after, they dislodged the National Police Mobile Training Camp in Limankara village of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state and reportedly turned it into their own training camp.

In neighboring Yobe state, the sect are also in control of Buni Yadi, the sleepy town where 59 school boys were killed by the sect members few months ago.

Latest report is that another set of heavy terrorists stormed Pulka village of Gwoza and sacked the whole community before hoisting their black and white flags Thursday night..

Pulka  about 20 kilometres from destroyed Gwoza town which is also located between Borno and Cameroon republic surrounded by Mandara Mountains.

Although, this was not the first time Pulka was being attacked,  the latest attack which occurred on Thursday evening was the deadliest o with quite a number of residents being killed.  Houses, shops, and vehicles were set ablaze before the insurgents dislodged the community and established a settlement there..

A competent and reliable sources told our Correspondent that “the insurgents, large in number, and using Rocket Propelled Launchers, Improvised Explosive Devices and petrol bombs,  invaded Pulka and opened fire on innocent civilians before overpowering security operatives and vigilante groups and  hoisting  their flags”.

This development, we gathered, forced some Internally Displaced  Persons who ran away from the Gwoza attacks  three weeks ago  and resettled at neighbouring Madagali town of Adamawa state and residents to vacate their community following the sounds of explosions and gunshots that ensued from the terrorists.

One of the Gwoza refugees who was in Madagali, Mr. Yakubu Jidda told our Correspondent that “the latest attack on Pulka forced many people in Madagali including the displaced persons to flee to neighbouring Mubi and Gombi towns of Adamawa for fear of possible attacks from the terrorists who now operate freely without confrontation from security operatives”.

A close political associate to Governor Kashim Shettima from Gwoza who was not authorized to talk to the Press and who pleaded anonymity confirmed the attack and the taking over of Pulka community by the Boko Haram sect on Thursday.

“Yes some Boko Haram terrorists invaded Pulka and killed many innocent people and destroyed  a lot of  houses before hoisting their flags in different locations of Pulka.  We,  the people of Gwoza are very  worried with the spate of killings and destruction by terrorists without  military or security agencies confronting them.

“The terrorists are now having a field day in any community they storm in Gwoza. Just  last Wednesday, the terrorists invaded the Police  Mobile Training Camp in nearby Limankara village and took over the facilities on ground.”

All effort to get the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Gideon Jubrin proved abortive as his phone line was  switched off as at the time of going to press.

Boko Haram Insurgents Overrun Madagali Local Government in Adamawa State

bok-jonathan-tukurHeavily armed insurgents belonging to the Nigerian Islamist sect, Boko Haram, in the early hours of today invaded the secretariat of the Madagali local government area in Adamawa State. The insurgents dislodged Nigerian soldiers who were guarding the facility and surrounding areas.

A security source told SaharaReporters that hundreds of the militants arrived at the local government headquarters led by armored vehicles they had earlier seized from Nigerian troops in Gwoza, Borno State. The source added that the Islamist fighters were also armed with shoulder-fired rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and anti-aircraft mortar guns mounted on pickup vans. They reportedly had it easy overwhelming Nigerian soldiers in the area who retreated quickly in the face of the militants’ heavy gunfire.

The militants promptly hoisted their flag and seized the administrative headquarters of Madagali local government area.

The local government area now joins a list of towns in Nigeria’s violence-plagued northeast that are under the control of the extremist militants who have declared Western education as the source of moral decadence and corruption in Nigeria. The towns captured by Boko Haram fighters include Gwoza in Borno State and Buni Yadi in Yobe State.

Meanwhile, more than 100 trainee police officers remain missing days after Boko Haram fighters sacked the Mobile Police Training Academy in Gwoza last Wednesday.
