According to Bloomberg, Donald Trump told a gathering of his donors during a private fundraising event in New York that the 2024 US presidential elections will most likely be between him and Joe Biden.
“He could be nominated again.” “He appears to be destined to be the nominee again,” Biden said of Trump’s chances of becoming the Republican Party’s nominee in the race.
The former president currently has a sizable advantage over other party contenders. According to the RealClearPolitics average of national polls, Trump leads his closest competitor, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, by 46%
Biden said in a letter to supporters in New York on Wednesday that “every American who loves democracy” should “join together” in the next elections to help him win a second term and “save American democracy.”
According to NPR Senior White House Correspondent Tamara Keith, Biden also cautioned the event participants, who had reportedly paid up to $7,500 each to hear him speak, that the former US president was a threat to the country.
“Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans are determined to destroy American democracy,” Biden stated, adding that he will “always defend, protect, and fight for our democracy.”
According to a new CBS News poll, only 34% of registered US voters believe Joe Biden will be able to finish his second term if he wins the 2020 election. According to an August Wall Street Journal poll, 73% of voters believe Biden is too elderly to run for re-election.
Voters have consistently expressed scepticism about the president’s physical and mental health, a subject raised by Donald Trump, who has dubbed the present US leader “incompetent.”
“I watched him yesterday, he couldn’t put two sentences [together], he can’t talk,” Trump claimed last week of Biden. “It’s not an age thing, it’s a competence thing.”
