We reported yesterday that the Civilian-JTF had pursued Boko Haram terrorists out of Bama towards Gwoza where Boko Haram terrorists are entrenched for the expected last major battle, but there are new details from Bama.
According to locals (as the Jonathan government has banned journalists) Boko Haram before leaving Bama committed unthinkable atrocities on the women of the town, a town of between 300-900,000. While some women were freed, others were not so lucky. The terrorists reportedly told them they will meet in heaven and then killed the women, some of whom they had been having relations with.
Reports have it that Nigerian troops are stationed in Kawuri. The terrorists laid landmines around Bama before fleeing, the Nigerian army has been working to neutralize these landmines.
Meanwhile the terrorists have dug trenches with equipment seized from the Nigerian military and planted landmines around Gwoza where thousands of terrorists have been assembled in preparation for a to-the-death last stand. Terrorists reported for the Gwoza battle from Sambisa forest as well as from Bama and other neighboring locals.
It is essential to point out that there is Boko Haram presence with camps across Bauchi, Jigawa, Yobe and the like, but the main insurgent forces and base in Maiduguri is what is now being destroyed.
According to locals, Boko Haram’s leader double, “Abubakar Shekau” fled Dikwa to Gwoza after Nigeria’s military told the Chadian to step down and retreat from Dikwa, to allow him escape.
