A court sitting in Abuja has sent Nigeria’s former Chief of Defense, Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh to Kuje Prison.
Alex Badeh is accused of diverting N3.9 billion dollars meant for the purchase of arms. On Thursday, the EFCC stated that the former Air Chief withdrew the sum of N1.4 billion to buy a house in Abuja,
“Mr. Badeh, while being the CDS, among other things between January and December, 2013, allegedly used dollar equivalent of the sum of N1.4billion (One Billion, One Hundred Million Naira) removed from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force to purchase a mansion situated at No. 6, Ogun River Street, Off Danube Street, Maitama, Abuja,” the statement read.
Justice Okon Abang giving the ruling set his bail application for hearing by March 1oth.
