The Journey of The Electron, by Perry Brimah
The roots gather the water, the respiring leaves reach out for the Sun;
Sunlight hits the green pigment and the electron bursts out;
Captured by the Photosystem (II), the electron makes ATP energy;
Sunlight hits the pigment and the electron bursts out;
Captured by the Photosystem (I), the electron is loaded in NADPH made;
The first electron now used up replaces the second electron that departs in NADPH;
Then the water is split and an electron released from it replaces the first electron that burst out of the pigment;
All is balanced; the gas has been reduced to food.
The water and the carbon dioxide gas are able to become carbohydrate, food to be bought and eaten;
The ATP energy made will enable the electron from water, carried in NADPH be locked into the carbon dioxide to become precious food;
The food is purchased and eaten;
Inhale to get the oxygen;
The electron is unlocked in a controlled explosion to make ATP energy for our daily living;
The electron bounces down the carriers in succession building up a proton gradient;
Like with the hydroelectric dam, the accumulated protons flow down the valley and set the ATP pump spinning;
The ATP energy has been made, the food sourced has delivered its energy;
The used up electron is deposited in oxygen gas we breathed and water is made;
The food is broken down to carbon dioxide and water from which it was made;
The electron has come to the end of its journey;
Mhhhhhh, we exhale.
Praise to the Lord who made systems the best human technology cannot.
