Barely a week after Nigeria’s President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan denied his chief terror negotiator, Dr Stephen Davis of Australia, after revealed that Nigeria’s former chief of army staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika and a former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, were the main sponsors of Boko Haram terror sect, the President has again made another huge and fat denial of another of his henchmen’s works.
Several days after the shameful billion Naira #BringBackGoodluck2015 hashtag and poster, banner and billboard campaign was launched and spread around Nigeria; following global condemnation including by the BBC and a sharp rebuke by the Washington Post Yesterday referring to Jonathan’s taste with that hashtag as “the worst political hashtag of the year worldwide,” the Preisdent ordered the billboards removed and denied knowing about the campaign by his “GIFT (Goodluck … something… For Transformation) team.
But we have exposed that his chief parrot, Presidential Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs Doyin Okupe was behind the filthy insensitive hashtag which he started using a version of since August 22.
A statement signed by a spokesperson for the president, Reuben Abati, said the banners were put up without the president’s knowledge.
“President Jonathan wholly shares the widely expressed view that the signs which were put up without his knowledge or approval are a highly insensitive parody of the #Bring Back Our Girls hash tag,” it read.
It added: “While President Jonathan appreciates the enthusiastic show of support for his administration by a broad range of stakeholders, he condemns the #Bring Back Jonathan 2015 signs which appear to make light of the very serious national and global concern for the abducted Chibok girls. Since the culprits for this violently insensitive campaign has been identified, the world expects disciplinary action against Doyin Okupe and the rest GIFT team in fairness to the abducted Chibok girls that Nigeria’s government has failed for over 4 months.
