In the case of misappropriated billions of dollars for arming Nigeria to combat Boko Haram including N333bn in “fictitious and phantom” arms contracts, the Nigerian government has said that former National security chief, Sambo Dasuki lied. He had been served invitations to be interrogated by the John Odeh-led panel. The invitations were served to his lawyer, but the former security chief snubbed them, Punch sources said.

Others indicted who will be served notice to court include former service chiefs, though some will only be invited as witnesses.

Nigeria’s former administration under the Goodluck Jonathan leadership has been accused of supporting the Boko Haram carnage against Nigeria that has led to over 100,000 dead and over 2 million displaced as a means of embezzling billions of dollars budgeted for security.

Airforce jets and other security equipment alleged to have been bought are simply nowhere to be seen. Nigerian soldiers were largely left ill-equipped and under motivated against a better equipped terrorist army.

The protracted war presented the perfect opportunity for Nigeria’s former security chiefs, head of national security and presidency to covet billions of dollars meant for the army.

Boko Haram became the deadliest terrorist group in the world as billions of dollars were haply looted.

The Buhari government is taking this deadly and unconscionable mess very seriously.
