The commander of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad aka Boko Haram, Shekau, has released a new video, after one year and some months without any video of the Boko Haram chief.
We are unable to confirm the authenticity of the video and which Shekau double this might be.
The audio quality was poor and reverberated.
Audio superimposition is a common feature of Boko Haram videos as well as hollywood caricatures.
He spoke in both Arabic and Hausa language.
It could be observed from the video that:
Shekau and Boko Haram are already defeated.
Shekau is no more praising him self as a superior leader.
Shekau didn’t attack or insult the federal or state government (He wants a talk with the government)
Shekau is no more shaking his gun or even moving his body. (He is not in a good health)

Retirement Speech – My End Has Come
It has been analysed that the video seemed to be a retirement speech. Shekau was not happy. he was basically admitting that things were not as before and he intended to retire.
Shekau said:
“This is a message of greeting and it is joy for you to see my face.”
“I desire that whoever sees this will hear nothing but greetings between me and you. Only Allah knows the rest, as you believed and submitted.
For me the end has come.
“This is only the message I want to send to you for you to understand that this is certainly I. That is why I did it.”
“I am replying the message from you that I received.”
“May Allah protect us so that no hypocrite stands between us and may He protect us from the devil so that he doesn’t achieve his evil among us.”
