Boko Haram has staged an attack very close to Maiduguri, near Ari Dawari village on the outskirts of the capital city.
Gunshots and rapid fire explosions were heard as though the attack was happening in Jiddari Polo, Maiduguri.
An RPG reportedly landed in Jiddari Polo, Maiduguri killing seven people.
The terrorists had come to the same area recently to attack and steal cattle.
Update: Civilian JTF reportedly battled the terrorists as they shot their way toward Maiduguri.
The army is said to be in pursuit of the terrorists.
And another explosion was reported just now in Sulemanti ward along Damboa road beside NNPC depot.
This comes after the government announced a technical defeat of the insurgency. The Nigerian military had burned down Sambisa forest in a crude attempt to make the President’s December deadline for political credits.

Boko Haram terrorists have opened fire on motorists queueing for fuel at a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation filling station in the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
Though details are still scanty as the attacks just took place now, Daily Trust can report that the assailants arrived the filling on Molai road in vehicles.
They attacked a beer parlor deep down Polo area that by proxy is closer to Jiddari and Molai… Istifanus was some chap we know , went to shack a couple of bottles as per holidays…. Now he’s dead – Kalifa Dikwa.
