Over 20 billion dollars is missing, or rather in their new terminology, unaccounted-for. That is the total missing for only 18 months reviewed of a total five years of the Jonathan administration. If all five years are audited, estimates are that over $127 billion dollars is missing / unaccounted for. Nigeria’s oil goddess, Diezani Alison-Madueke still continues to steal $4million every day in the kerosene subsidy scam.
Purposely distracted by the miraculous success of ragtag bunch of Boko Haram terrorists, Nigerians appear to have put aside our clamor for that money as we beg for our State security department to do their dm job.
The unaccounted-for $20 billion dollars would purchase hundreds of drones, better military equipment and pay the salaries of our unmotivated, sabotaged soldiers dying to defend Nigeria from the mess of top army chiefs and politicians implicated in the sponsorship of Boko Haram who largesse on embezzled millions and enjoy limitless immunity of the Jonathan toothless, clueless administration. In five full years, Jonathan has not locked up or killed a single sponsor of Boko Haram.
Yesterday’s news as reported by SaharaReporters has it that former President Obasanjo’s son Lt. Col. Adeboye was shot and seriously injured, among at least 24 other brave Nigerian troops killed in Mubi. How many more of our civilians and soldiers have to die and be destroyed?
Earlier, the Economist reported that, “Despite a large increase in government spending on the army, little of this largesse has found its way to the front lines: many of the troops fighting against Boko Haram have been paid late, or sometimes not at all.”
When they assumed office Nigeria’s new set of army bosses promised to defeat Boko Haram by April. That April, our girls were abducted. By June, DailyTrust reported that the army chiefs were busy dividing barracks land in Abuja among themselves.
The situation is pathetic and hopeless. Aso rock is truly vacant.
One quarter of Nigeria’s budget is allocated to the so-called war on terror, yet our army is underfunded and undermined in grievous treachery, wrought off of greed to demonic proportions. The US stated last week that the Nigerian army reputation has tanked. Corruption has finally, totally killed us.
President Goodluck Jonathan raised N58 billion from his friends to allegedly rehabilitate the northeast, yet the thousands of civilians and volunteers including the CJTF, hunters, vigilante’s, and ex officers who have gathered with a promise to go out and sacrifice their lives to reclaim their State from Boko Haram terrorists, receive no financial support or assistance from the federal government from all this money. We asked yesterday that is it when Boko Haram rules Borno and all the locals have been abducted for rape or conscription, killed or displaced that Jonathan will spend the N58 billion on their- Boko Haram Borno’s welfare?
Former US Ambassador, John Campbell this May stated of the Nigerian army: “There are hints that sympathizers in the Nigerian army will deliberately leave doors of armouries unlocked for Boko Haram.” –ThisDay, May 15, 2014. That no one has been court-martialed for this grand treason and treacherous sponsorship of Boko Haram terrorism by members of the Nigerian army IMPLICATES the army chiefs directly in the sponsorship of Boko Haram terrorism in Nigeria. Sponsorship is logistic, financial and hardware.
Borno State yesterday submitted that most of their State is now the territory of Boko Haram. Where is our army? Where is that African army that liberated Liberia? What more evidence do we need of the top level army chief sabotage and support of Boko Haram than the fact that this ragtag group of miscreants can continue to win victories over the great Nigerian army and army of Africa’s largest economy?
It is time to impeach Jonathan.
Since we have been shouting, alerting of the impending doom, some people thought w were mad, but now the entire nation and world sees the alarming recklessness and puerile hopelessness of our leadership. This cannot be sustained.
President Jonathan and Boko Haram who he calls his siblings and family, must go. Nigeria cannot afford to wait another week.
